The Lahore Sessions Court, on Wednesday, extended the interim bail of Aroob Jatoi, wife of Saadur Rehman aka Ducky Bhai, a YouTuber implicated in a case of promoting a gambling app.
Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ali Qureshi further extended her bail till March 24 with directions to make sure her presence for future hearings, warning that no exemption would be given in the future under her bail.
The court, on Monday, had indicted Ducky Bhai, Aroob Jatoi, and other co-accused in a case registered by the National Counter Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on charges of promoting gambling and betting applications.
The case, which was registered on August 17, falls under sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), along with sections 294-B (offering prizes in connection with trade) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
In the course of the hearing, the NCCIA investigating officer asked that the mobile phone belonging to the accused be subjected to a forensic investigation. The request was granted, considering the time it takes to carry out a forensic investigation.
However, Aroob Jatoi’s lawyers, Usman and Aftab, due to the delays faced while obtaining the forensic report, requested that the next hearing be set after Ramazan, which was approved by the court.
