Ducky Bhai’s wife Aroob Jatoi grilled by NCCIA in promotion of gambling apps case

Aroob Jatoi, the wife of YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, has recorded her statement before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore in a case lodged against her husband over alleged promotion of online gambling applications.

She appeared before the NCCIA after obtaining pre-arrest bail from a sessions court.

Her lawyer claimed that Aroob appeared before the agency after obtaining pre-arrest bail on Wednesday, adding that it recorded her statement and questioned her for around 90 minutes.

The YouTuber was taken into custody at Lahore Airport on August 17.

He is currently in NCCIA custody on physical remand until August 23. The YouTuber is accused of promoting betting and gambling platforms through his YouTube channel, including Binomo, 1xBet, Bet365, B9 Game and others.

The case was registered the same day of his arrest under multiple sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, including electronic forgery, fraud, spamming, and spoofing, as well as provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code related to cheating and offering prizes tied to trade.

According to the FIR, the inquiry started on June 13 after authorities received information that several YouTubers and social media influencers were encouraging the public to invest in gambling applications for personal gain. The complaint stated that many people suffered financial losses as a result.
