Ducky Bhai seeks bail in promotion of gambling apps case

YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, has filed a bail application in a case pertaining to alleged promotion of illegal online gambling apps.

The bail application was filed through his lawyer after a judicial magistrate remanded him to jail on judicial remand.

In the bail plea, Rehman maintained that the FIR registered against him is “false and frivolous,” alleging that it was lodged with “ulterior motives” aimed at defaming him.

He stated that none of the applications mentioned in the FIR had been officially declared unlawful by the government at the time they were promoted. It further contended that investigators have failed to present any evidence of forgery, fraud, spamming, or spoofing.

The application also highlighted that the sections of law cited in the case — including 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code — are bailable offences. Moreover, it stated that no financial victim has so far come forward with a complaint against Rehman.

The plea added that Rehman has no previous criminal record, will not flee abroad, and is ready to furnish surety bonds. The court has issued notice to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for September 12 on the bail plea.

Meanwhile, the NCCIA has also summoned several other digital influencers. Notices have been issued to YouTuber Rajab Butt, TikTok star Iqra Kanwal, and content creator Muhammad Anas Ali, directing them to appear before investigators on on Sept 9.
