Egyptian couple ditches luxury, holds unique street wedding shoot to save for Umrah

A heartwarming video of an unconventional wedding in Cairo went viral on social media. The newlyweds defied traditional norms and extravagance in their celebration by stepping onto the streets at dawn for their wedding shoot instead of hosting an expensive ceremony at a lavish venue.

Groom Mustafa and bride Yasmeen decided to reduce their wedding expenses and use the money for the Umrah pilgrimage.

The couple asked wedding photographer Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Syed to capture their special moments in the streets and squares of Cairo.

At 6 am, the couple embarked on a romantic photo session and strolled through the streets. They were met with a surprise grand welcome from the public.

Car horns blared in celebration, pedestrians beamed with warm smiles and good wishes, and women bestowed the newlyweds with heartfelt prayers and blessings. 

Hailing from Menuofia Governorate in Egypt, the couple prioritised their faith over lavish wedding celebrations, opting to allocate their budget towards performing Umrah, a sacred Islamic pilgrimage, instead.

This unique and heartfelt moment not only became a cherished memory for Mustafa and Yasmeen but also resonated deeply with Egyptians, showcasing a beautiful example of love and simplicity.

The couple's story quickly went viral as an example of simplicity, love, and devotion.
