Fahad Mustafa responds to Atiqa Odho’s remarks on age-appropriate roles

Prominent Pakistani actor and television host Fahad Mustafa has responded to recent remarks made by senior actress Atiqa Odho, saying in a light-hearted tone that if she were to undergo “two or four more good surgeries”, he and his peers could become her on-screen heroes.

The exchange follows comments made by Atiqa Odho during an appearance on a private television programme, where she suggested that Fahad Mustafa had reached a stage in his career where he should begin working opposite actresses closer to his own age.

When asked by the host whether she meant younger actresses, she clarified that she was referring to women of his own age rather than significantly younger co-stars.

In response, Fahad Mustafa addressed the matter during his game show, speaking alongside actor Humayun Saeed.

He jokingly questioned what the issue was and remarked that perhaps she would only be satisfied if he and Humayun Saeed appeared as her heroes.

He added in a humorous vein that she now appeared to be their only heroine, saying they would, God willing, work with her.

Continuing the banter, he repeated his comment that if Atiqa Odho were to undergo a few more successful cosmetic procedures, they could then play her on-screen heroes.

It is worth noting that a separate statement by Atiqa Odho concerning men also circulated widely on social media recently.

Speaking on a private television channel, she emphasised that individuals should be judged on the basis of character rather than gender.
