‘Kattar Karachi’ director expresses interest in making a film on President Asif Ali Zardari

The film Kattar Karachi, which was released this year, won the Lux Style Award for Best Film as voted by viewers, despite facing strong criticism from critics over its short runtime and weak storyline.

Speaking recently to Geo Digital, Kattar Karachi director Abdul Wali Baloch shared his views on future projects.

When asked which personality from Karachi he would like to make a film about, Abdul Wali Baloch said that he is interested in making a film on President Asif Ali Zardari.

He stated that he has not seen a personality like President Zardari in Pakistan and therefore wishes to bring his life story to the screen.

Responding to a question about which actor he would cast to portray President Zardari, the director said that he is not certain who would best suit the role.

However, due to physical resemblance, veteran actor Shabbir Jan could be a possible choice.

Abdul Wali Baloch added that Shabbir Jan is a capable actor who could do justice to the role, but emphasised that portraying President Zardari would require a careful and extensive search. He said that he would ultimately leave the final decision to the audience.
