A study revealed that less than one-third of Pakistanis wear perfumes and fragrances, while a higher proportion of youngsters are among the users of fragrances.

A survey report shared by Gallup Pakistan stated that the “habit of using perform, deodorant other fragrances is limited to a 32%, with a higher use of 40% reported among younger individuals.

When the surveyor inquired whether respondents had used perfumes or other fragrances the previous day, only 40% of individuals under age 30 replied affirmatively, compared to 27% of those aged 30 to 50 and 30% of those over 50.

This indicates that usage of fragrances is highest among the younger age group.

The study also revealed that at least “55% of high schools and better-educated individuals” prioritise fragrances to smell good.

Individuals with more than 12 years of education were more likely to use these products, while 28% of those with 12 years or less of education did not use them.

Cumulatively, in response to a question about using perfumes, 32% said yes to using perfumes, while 68% denied it.

In the business context, the perfume industry experienced significant growth over the past decade, particularly from 2017 to 2024, prompting several clothing and makeup brands to venture into the fragrance market.
