Mahnoor Rahim sends legal notice to Umer Mukhtar over alleged harassment

A legal dispute has broken out between model Mahnoor Rahim and producer Umar Mukhtar following serious allegations of sexual harassment.

Mahnoor Rahim has now served a legal notice on Umar Mukhtar in response to earlier proceedings, escalating the matter and reigniting debate on social media — particularly around sexual misconduct within the entertainment industry.

A few days ago, a video of Mahnoor went viral in which she accused an influential figure in showbiz of sending inappropriate messages and engaging in harassment.

Although she did not name anyone in the video, social media users and sections of the entertainment fraternity speculated that she was referring to Umar Mukhtar.

The controversy intensified when several other women voiced support for Mahnoor’s stance online, with much of the speculation continuing to centre on the producer.

Umar Mukhtar, who is regarded as a prominent producer with close ties to leading figures in the industry, subsequently sent a defamation notice to Mahnoor, describing it as his formal response to the allegations.

In turn, Mahnoor has issued a legal reply through her lawyer, maintaining that her statements do not constitute defamation as they are based on truth.

In a statement, she said she stands by her decision to speak out and will not be silenced by pressure or legal threats. She also thanked members of the public, fellow artists and social media users who have expressed support and solidarity.
