Renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil shared the reason behind his decision to undergo hair transplantation, revealing that his motivation stemmed from a desire to enhance his appearance for his wife.

Citing Islamic teachings, he emphasised that personal beautification for one’s spouse is not merely a preference but a sacred duty.

Maulana Tariq Jamil appeared in a podcast recently where he explained about how focusing and enhacng one''s to make happy one's supouse is also enouraged by relgion.

He referenced the words of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) cousin, Ibn Abbas, stating,“He said, ‘I [Ibn Abbas] beautify myself for my wife.’”

“As I like her to prepare and groom herself for me, I am also responsible for adorning myself for her,” he explained.

The cleric asserted that Islamic teachings do not prohibit self-care; rather, they encourage it.

Explaining the importance of self-care, Maulana Tariq Jamil said, “Our men and women do not make efforts to enhance their appearance for their spouse,” which, he suggested, often leads to marital discord.

He also quoted a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), stating, “The hoor of Jannah will adorn themselves for their husbands, just as Umm-e-Salma [the Prophet’s wife] did for her spouse.”

MTJ emphasised that personal beautification has significant value in Islam and quoted several references from Hadith and Sunnah, saying that even Islam stressed decorating transportation as well.

He further stated that while Sufi saints played a crucial role in spreading Islam in the subcontinent, their practices such as embracing starvation, wearing tattered clothes, and consuming dry bread, were mistakenly associated with Islamic teachings.
