Saif Ali Khan recounts harrowing incident at his residence

Renowned Indian actor Saif Ali Khan has shared details of a shocking attack at his home with the police, revealing how the events unfolded and the injuries he sustained while fending off the assailant.

According to Indian media reports, Saif recorded his initial statement with the police, describing the events of the night. He recounted, "On January 16, between 2:30 and 2:40 AM, I heard commotion in my house. My wife, Kareena, and I were in our bedroom on the 12th floor when I heard our younger son, Jeh, crying, prompting me to step out."

The actor further stated, "I went to the 11th floor, where my son and his caretaker were staying. Upon entering Jeh's room, I saw the nanny arguing loudly with a stranger. The man was armed with a knife. Sensing danger, I tried to confront him, but he attacked me. He stabbed me multiple times in the back, neck, and hands. Meanwhile, Jeh and the nanny managed to escape the room."

Saif explained, "Despite my injuries, I somehow overpowered the attacker and locked him inside the room. Kareena and my son were terrified to see me bleeding profusely. I was rushed to the hospital, but the attacker managed to escape."

The incident occurred at around 3 AM at Saif Ali Khan's residence in Bandra, Mumbai, during an attempted robbery.

The actor's brave resistance foiled the robbery attempt but left him with six stab wounds, two of which were severe, including one dangerously close to his spine.

Following the attack, Saif was transported to a local hospital in an auto-rickshaw rather than his car. Doctors performed surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife fragment from his spine. After spending six days under medical care, the actor was discharged on Tuesday.

The incident highlights Saif Ali Khan's courageous effort to protect his family while enduring a life-threatening encounter.
