An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore acquitted singer Omar Malik in Jinnah House attack case. Violent protests erupted the May 9 following the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan.
During the hearing, the ATC judge questioned the investigation officer on the delay in Malik’s arrest, asking, “Why did you remain silent for 16 months?”
The judge also inquired why Malik had not been declared a fugitive by the court during that time.
After hearing the arguments, the court acquitted the singer of all charges related to the incident.
It is worth recalling that the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) cyber crime wing arrested Omar Malik on October 10. He was presented in court after completing a 10-day physical remand.
