Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman was overcome with emotion after sustaining an injury that ruled him out of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy tournament. A video surfaced showing the star batter breaking down in the dressing room.

The ICC shared a clip of Fakhar walking back to the pavilion after being dismissed by New Zealand's bowler Michael Bracewell. Fakhar had scored 24 runs off 41 balls, struggling to perform due to the injury.

As he made his way back to the pavilion, Fakhar appeared visibly devastated, breaking into tears. His frustration was evident as he was unable to contribute to his team's chase of the challenging 360-run target set by the Kiwis on Wednesday at National Stadium in Karachi.

Shaheen Afridi was seen sitting alongside Fakhar, holding a water bottle.

Fakhar sustained the injury while fielding and attempting to catch the ball during the very first over.

At the time, he informed the team staff that he was unable to stand.

Despite the injury, the management decided to let him bat, though he struggled during his innings.

Due to Fakhar’s injury, Saud Shakeel opened alongside Babar Azam in Pakistan’s most recent match, while Fakhar batted at number four. However, Pakistan faced a disastrous 60-run defeat to New Zealand in that game.
