The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to rename the historic Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar, with plans to dedicate it to the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to official sources, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approved the renaming, and the provincial sports ministry has prepared a summary for the change.
The proposal is expected to be presented at the upcoming cabinet meeting on Friday, where it is likely to receive final approval.
A spokesperson for the KP government confirmed that renovation and beautification work at the stadium is also underway. "
With the provincial government's approval, significant upgrades are being carried out to enhance the stadium's infrastructure," the spokesperson said.
Arbab Niaz Stadium, a historic cricket venue in Pakistan, was originally named after the late Arbab Niaz, a former mayor of Peshawar and a federal minister.
