LONDON: Following international coverage by CNN, a senior journalist from the BBC has also highlighted Pakistan’s military edge over India during the recent escalation.
Anbarasan Ethirajan, the BBC’s South Asia Regional Editor, stated that India must accept that Pakistan’s air power is superior.
Speaking on the ongoing conflict, he said, “India may claim it carried out strikes inside Pakistan despite its nuclear capabilities, but the reality is that Pakistan maintained aerial dominance.”
The British journalist emphasized that India’s plans to inflict irreparable damage on Pakistan had failed, and that despite spending billions of dollars on advanced weaponry, India still faced setbacks on the battlefield.
He added that this outcome has serious implications for India’s defense credibility and highlights Pakistan’s effective military preparedness and strategic advantage.

Earlier, a senior CNN journalist, Nick Robertson, reported that Pakistan’s decisive missile retaliation amid the recent military escalation played a pivotal role in compelling India to agree to a ceasefire.
According to Robertson, the scale, precision, and effectiveness of Pakistan’s military response — including the downing of multiple Indian fighter jets and dozens of surveillance drones — significantly altered the strategic landscape in New Delhi.
He noted that the Pakistani retaliation created "a pressure scenario for Indian leadership," ultimately leaving them with no viable option but to step back and pursue de-escalation.
Robertson added that India’s initial aggressive posture following the Pahalgam incident lacked international backing, especially due to the absence of credible evidence linking Pakistan to the attack.
