US President Donald Trump has once again called for ceasefire to end the fighting in Gaza.

Taking to his social media platform, Trump reiterated his call for a ceasefire, the second such appeal he has made this weekend.

"MAKE THE DEAL IN GAZA. GET THE HOSTAGES BACK!!! DJT", he wrote on Truth Social.

His appeal came as Israeli airstrikes killed at least 72 people in Gaza, further intensifying concerns over the humanitarian crisis and complicating the prospects for a resolution.

Trump also claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently engaged in negotiations with Hamas to secure the release of hostages still held in Gaza.

While Hamas has expressed willingness to release the captives as part of an agreement to end the war, Israel has maintained that any such deal would require Hamas to disarm, a condition the group refuses to accept.

Earlier, Trump once again took aim at Israel’s judicial system, criticising the ongoing corruption trial against Netanyahu. He claimed the legal proceedings were interfering with the prime minister’s ability to hold talks with both Hamas and Iran.

“The travesty of ‘Justice’ will interfere with both Iran and Hamas negotiations,” Trump wrote. “In other words, it is INSANITY doing what the out-of-control prosecutors are doing to Bibi Netanyahu.”

Netanyahu responded on Sunday morning with a note of gratitude, saying, “Together, we will make the Middle East Great Again!”

Netanyahu was indicted in 2019 on charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, which he denies. His trial, which began in 2020, centers on three separate criminal cases and continues to draw significant attention both domestically and internationally.
