Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan will engage in talks with India on three key issues: the Indus Waters Treaty, the long-standing Kashmir dispute, and terrorism.

Speaking to the media following the ceasefire agreement between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, Asif remarked, “I believe India did not anticipate such a firm and strategic response from Pakistan.”

He emphasized that the global community is now acknowledging the flaws in India’s military judgment and strategic assessments during the recent standoff.

The defence minister also reiterated Pakistan’s consistent calls for a neutral and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident — a proposal that has yet to be accepted by New Delhi.
