From University to Nikah: Who Is Azaan Jabbar?

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, married Azaan Jabbar, the son of businessman Jabbar Khalid, in a private nikkah ceremony on Saturday.

The nikkah was held at the Sharif family’s Jati Umrah estate in Lahore, with the event attended by members of the Sharif and Khalid families, along with a limited number of close friends and relatives, according to a family source.

Azaan Jabbar’s father, Jabbar Khalid, is reportedly associated with the flour-milling industry.

Azaan Jabbar and Mahnoor Safdar reportedly studied at SOAS University of London. Mahnoor has generally maintained a low public profile.

PML-N supremo and Mahnoor’s grandfather, Nawaz Sharif, recently returned from Singapore and postponed his planned trip to London to attend the family event.

The nikkah took place shortly after Maryam Nawaz travelled to London to attend her daughter’s graduation ceremony. She returned to Lahore on Wednesday.

The Sharif family has not yet announced details regarding a formal reception or any other wedding celebrations.
