Opposition Leader Omar Ayub has called for an independent inquiry into the deaths of Rangers and police personnel during the protests in Pakistan.
Ayub in a presser, said that the martyrdom of security personnel is a grave matter that requires a transparent investigation.
He also alleged that key Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) figures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi, were targeted with gunfire and tear gas shells during the clashes.
Ayub condemned these attacks and announced that he would pursue legal action against these acts of violence.
The situation in Pakistan remains tense, with protests and sit-ins continuing across the country. The government has yet to respond to Ayub's allegations or the demand for an inquiry.
The US has also expressed concern over the situation, calling on protesters to demonstrate peacefully and on Pakistani authorities to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms.
