Pakistan has dealt a significant and humiliating blow to India's military pride by shooting down multiple Rafale fighter jets—an action described by The Telegraph as a "regional game-changer" and a stunning revelation for global defense analysts.
According to the UK-based newspaper, Pakistan's successful use of "unseen and silent technology" reportedly left Indian Rafale pilots unaware of the threat until it was too late.
The paper further stated that the episode not only asserted Pakistan’s aerial superiority but also rattled India's confidence in its prized French-made aircraft.
The Telegraph observed that while India had focused on expanding its fleet of advanced jets following the 2019 Balakot airstrikes, Pakistan—backed by Chinese support—quietly developed advanced stealth and electronic warfare capabilities.
This technological leap appears to have caught Indian defense planners off guard.
The downing of the Rafale jets, according to the publication, marks a pivotal shift in South Asia’s airpower dynamics and signals Pakistan’s growing edge in strategic military technology.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed on Wednesday that the Indian jets were shot down in Akhnoor, Ambala, Barnala, and Jammu.
While Indian officials initially denied any aircraft losses, multiple ground reports and local government sources, including those cited by Reuters, confirmed that three Indian jets had crashed inside Indian-controlled Kashmir.
