Tehran is set to lodge a formal complaint with the United Nations against the United States for causing damage to its nuclear facilities, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh revealed in an interview with Al Mayadeen TV.
Khatibzadeh stated that the U.S. must compensate Iran for the destruction inflicted during unauthorized military strikes on three key nuclear sites — Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan — carried out on June 22.
The deputy minister explained that the attacks occurred amid a 12-day war launched by the Israeli regime on June 13, during which Iran’s military, nuclear, and civilian infrastructure came under assault.
In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force launched 22 waves of missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, targeting cities across the occupied Palestinian territories and inflicting what Iran described as "heavy losses."

A ceasefire was established on June 24, bringing an end to the hostilities. According to Khatibzadeh, it was the United States that initiated backchannel communications to request a halt to the conflict.
He emphasized that the Iranian response forced the Israeli side to unilaterally cease aggression, and reiterated that Tehran had not entered into any formal or written agreement with Israel. “What occurred was a cessation of aggression by the Zionists. In parallel, Iran refrained from launching further strikes, although it remains fully prepared to respond if necessary,” Khatibzadeh added.
He further underscored that any dialogue was conditional on the immediate end to hostilities, a stance Iran maintained throughout indirect communications.
