KP govt ousts Mashal Yousafzai after TV interview

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Mashal Yousafzai, was removed from her post following her TV interview about Bushra Bibi's differences with the PTI leadership during protest in Islamabad.

The Chief Minister’s Secretariat issued a notification confirming Yousafzai’s removal from the position of Special Assistant. Yousafzai also serves as the spokesperson for Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Yousafzai confirmed that her removal was prompted by her comments during the interview.

She revealed that PTI leaders Barrister Saif and Barrister Gohar had met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail and relayed his directions to Bushra Bibi, advising her to move the march to Sangjani instead of D-Chowk.

However, Bushra Bibi asserted that Imran Khan had explicitly instructed her to march to D-Chowk and stated that she would confirm any change in plans directly with him.

Yousafzai questioned why Bushra Bibi was not facilitated to connect with Imran Khan via a phone call to verify his directives if PTI leaders were able to meet him in person at Adiala Jail.

Her remarks implied distrust in the party’s leadership.

She further said that Bushra Bibi was resolute in her decision to march to D-Chowk, following Imran Khan's instructions. "How could Bushra Bibi back down when the PTI founder himself told her to proceed?" Yousafzai remarked.

She also alleged that Bushra Bibi’s car was fired upon, and chemicals were thrown at it, which fogged the windows, forcing her to switch vehicles.

“I was separated from Bushra Bibi during this chaos,” Yousafzai said.
