KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed reservations about U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan, saying the proposal is incomplete and that Malaysia does not agree with many of its aspects.
Speaking to local media, Anwar stressed that his immediate priority is to save Palestinian lives.
Anwar said that support from Arab and Islamic countries for the plan should not be read as agreement with every element of the proposal.
He described the initiative as a collective effort aimed at halting bloodshed and displacement, and at enabling Palestinians to return to Gaza.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reports that Hamas has submitted its response to President Trump’s 20-point Gaza plan.
According to the report, Hamas has largely accepted the plan and stated it is willing to arrange for the release of all Israeli prisoners in exchange for an end to the war on Gaza and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces.
