Pakistan has strongly condemned recent remarks by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing them as “provocative, misinformed, and politically opportunistic,” and warned that such rhetoric poses a grave threat to peace and stability in South Asia.
In a firm statement issued by Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, Pakistan rejected what it called a "fabricated and inflammatory narrative" designed to justify Indian aggression and distract from domestic political pressures.
“At a time when international partners are striving to de-escalate tensions, such statements demonstrate a reckless disregard for regional stability and international law,” the spokesperson said.
Reaffirming its commitment to the ceasefire achieved through the facilitation of friendly nations, Pakistan dismissed India’s portrayal of Pakistan as “desperate” for a ceasefire as a deliberate falsehood.
The Foreign Office accused New Delhi of exploiting the recent Pahalgam attack—without credible evidence—to frame Pakistan and create a casus belli, or pretext for military escalation. The statement warned that India’s unprovoked attacks on civilian and military targets risk triggering a broader regional conflict.
“These provocations, including direct strikes on Pakistani military bases, set a dangerous precedent and threaten to normalize reckless brinkmanship in the region,” the statement read.

Shafqat Ali Khan asserted that Pakistan’s response was “measured, precise, and limited strictly to military targets,” underscoring its right to self-defense while exercising restraint to prevent further escalation.
The spokesperson also condemned alleged Indian violations of international agreements, including the Indus Waters Treaty, and accused Indian forces of targeting civilians—particularly women and children—during the recent hostilities.
Pakistan called on the international community to take notice of India’s conduct, urging global powers to ensure accountability.
“Make no mistake—Pakistan will continue to monitor India’s actions closely. We urge the world to do the same,” the spokesperson added.
Reiterating its long-standing stance, Pakistan reaffirmed its support for a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions. Islamabad also welcomed mediation efforts by U.S. President Donald Trump in this regard.
