The Sindh College Education Department has officially imposed a ban on photography in government girls’ colleges.

Through a notification, principals of the colleges have been informed that any violation of this directive could result in disciplinary or legal action.

The advisory was issued by the Special Secretary for Colleges in Sindh, and based on this, the Regional Director of College Education, Karachi, has circulated letters to all government colleges in the city.

According to the letter, student photographs were being misused on certain social media platforms, constituting a serious violation of social, religious, and legal norms.

Complaints regarding this misuse were formally received by the College Education Department, prompting the Special Secretary to take strict notice of unauthorised photography of female staff and students, and its dissemination on Facebook, WhatsApp, and other digital platforms.

Professor Qazi Arshad, in the letter, further stated that any college found violating this ban will face strict disciplinary action against the responsible principals and staff.
