A total of 177 Pakistani nationals, who were detained in Libya while attempting to travel illegally to Europe, have been deported and arrived in Islamabad.

According to media reports, the deported individuals were repatriated via a special flight. Authorities said all of them had travelled to Libya through irregular migration routes in an attempt to reach Europe.

The reports revealed that the returnees had travelled via Iran and Saudi Arabia before reaching Libya. Upon arrival in Pakistan, they were taken into custody at Islamabad International Airport and shifted to the Anti-Human Smuggling Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

FIA officials said that agents involved in sending the individuals abroad have been placed on the Red Book list. The deportees will be further processed and transferred to different FIA zones for investigation.

Breakdown of the returnees includes 59 from Lahore, 58 from Gujarat, 26 from Rawalpindi, 23 from Gujranwala, 10 from Sialkot, and one from Islamabad.
