3 suspects to stay in police custody for 4 more days in foreign women's kidnap case

A judicial magistrate on Thursday granted police a further four-day physical remand of three suspects arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape of two foreign women.

The suspects, identified as Rizwan, Nawaz and Nasir, were produced before Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood by Defence-C Police after completing an earlier five-day physical remand.

During the hearing, police sought an extension of the suspects' remand to continue the investigation. The court asked investigators what had been recovered from the accused so far

The prosecutor informed the court that weapons had been recovered from suspects Rizwan and Nasir. The investigating officer said a weapon was yet to be recovered from Nawaz, while cash, jewellery and a watch allegedly linked to the case were also to be recovered.

After hearing the arguments, the court approved a further four-day physical remand of the three suspects.

The suspects are facing charges of allegedly kidnapping and raping two foreign women. Police said the arrests were made after the victims identified the accused.
