35 Pakistani pilgrims killed, 25 injured in Iran bus crash

A passenger bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims met with a fatal accident in Iran on Wednesday, leaving at least 35 people dead and 25 others wounded, according to local media.
Iranian media reported that the ill-fated bus, operated by a private company, was en route from Iran to Iraq when the brakes of the vehicle failed in Yazd.
Subsequently, the bus overturned and caught fire near Taftan-Dehshir checkpoint.
The accident took place yesterday night, while 53 passengers mostly from Ghotki and Larkana were travelling in the bus.
The bodies and injured were shifted to the hospital by the rescue officials.
The development was also confirmed by Maulana Qamar Abbas Naqvi, a member of a peace committee.
The Iranian government has imposed an emergency at hospitals across the city to give medical assistance to the injured.
However, no further details were provided by the local authorities.
