Hina Javed murder: Rawalpindi police get custody of husband, employee for 3 days

In a major development in the alleged murder case of Hina Javed, the Rawalpindi police have arrested her husband and a household employee and obtained three-day physical remand of both suspects.
A seven-member investigation team has been formed under the supervision of SSP Investigation Saifullah. The police have also taken into custody the mobile phones of the deceased and the three people present in the house. DNA testing of the two arrested suspects has also been ordered.
The deceased’s husband, Faisal Asghar Imam, and an employee were formally arrested and produced before a duty magistrate, who granted police their three-day physical remand.
Rawalpindi CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera formed a high-level team headed by SSP Investigation Saifullah to investigate the case. The team includes SP Potohar Chaudhry Asar Ali, DSP Civil Lines Raja Shakeel, SHO Civil Lines Asif Sajjad, HIU Inspector Mirza Arif and technical experts.
According to media reports, investigators and forensic experts conducted a detailed examination of the crime scene for around six hours. Nineteen evidence parcels were prepared, including the mobile phones of the deceased and suspects, fingerprints, the alleged murder weapon, wire allegedly used to make the noose, cloth reportedly used to tie the victim’s hands behind her back and another piece of cloth allegedly placed over her face.
The process of sending various samples collected after the post-mortem for forensic analysis has also been completed. The doctor who conducted the post-mortem has indicated that a final opinion will be issued after the forensic report is received.
Police sources said DNA tests of both arrested suspects would also be conducted.
Hina Javed, who had married in 2025 and moved to her in-laws’ home, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom, allegedly partially suspended from a shower by a wire noose.
A murder case was registered on the complaint of her brother, Fahad, against her husband Faisal Asghar Imam, father-in-law Asghar Imam and a household employee.
