5.7-magnitude earthquake jolts parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Tremors were felt in Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kamalia, Khanewal, Bhulwal, Chiniot, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Gujrat, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Chichawatni, Phoolnagar, Chakwal, among other cities.
The tremors also jolted KP's several cities, including Peshawar, North Waziristan, DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Lower Dir, Malakand, Tank and its surrounding areas.
Following the quake, people rushed out of their houses while reciting Kalima and other verses from the Holy Quran.
However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or property.
According to the PMD's National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 5.7 on the Richter Scale.
Its depth was recorded at 10km, while its epicentre was Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab.
