5 Karachi tourists dead, four missing as boat capsizes in Swat’s Saifullah Lake

At least five tourists from Karachi died after a boat carrying members of the same family capsized in Swat's Saifullah Lake, police said.

The bodies of the five deceased were recovered from the Mahodand area, while search efforts were under way to trace four others.

Officials said that nine people were on board when the incident occurred at the tourist lake, located around a two-hour journey from Mahodand. The boat reportedly overturned suddenly, causing all passengers to fall into the water.

The boatman was rescued in injured condition and shifted to hospital for treatment.

Reacting to the tragedy, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed grief over the loss of lives, calling the incident “deeply tragic and heartbreaking.”
