Awami National Party (ANP) President Senator Aimal Wali Khan has expressed concerns that former Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed has not been held fully accountable for his alleged crimes, including attempts at mass atrocities against the Pashtun community.
Commenting on Faiz Hameed’s sentence, Senator Aimal Wali Khan said that the former ISI chief, who allegedly organized 40,000 militants in Kabul while holding a cup of tea, has largely gone unpunished.
He criticized that there has been no inquiry into efforts to carry out another genocide against Pashtuns.
According to him, the alliance of Faiz–Bajwa–Imran continues to enjoy power, while the Pashtun community has suffered the most.
He further stated that an entire generation was misled into believing that all political leaders were corrupt except for one “messiah,” and that the third engineering of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the establishment has caused widespread harm to the province.
Senator Aimal Wali Khan demanded that conspiracies against the Pashtuns must be exposed before any meaningful justice and peace can be achieved.
It is worth noting that former DG ISI Lieutenant General (R) Faiz Hameed was sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by a military court on charges including involvement in political activities, violations of the Official Secrets Act to the detriment of state security, misuse of authority and state resources, and causing harm to citizens.
