Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori has announced gold jewellery for Pakistan javelin ace Arshad Nadeem's wife, Rashida Arshad.
He made the announcement while giving an interview to renowned journalist Waseem Badami, where Arshad and his wife were also invited.
"The national hero's visit to Karachi was a memorable moment, the way the people of Karachi welcomed him will be remembered in history," Tessori said.
MQM-P leader said that Arshad has once again united the entire nation.
He also thanked the 27-year-old athlete for announcing 100 laptops for IT Univeristy in the port city.
During the interview, Arshad's wife said that she had prayed for her husband's success for continuous three days without sleep.
“I was extremely nervous, and could not sleep or eat for three days,” Rashid shared.
On the other hand, the gold medalist Olympian said that he wants to unite the nation like a bundle of wood.
"You cannot break a bundle of wood, but if we separate woods they can easily be broken," Arshad added.
Arshad also shared a lighthearted moment about the buffalo he received as a gift from his father-in-law after his Olympic triumph.
"My father-in-law owns acres of land, but he gave me a buffalo. I told my wife to tell him to give 5-acre land out of his 1.5-mile land."
The sportsman made the country proud on August 8 when he threw a javelin at the record-breaking spot of 92.97 metres at the Paris Olympics 2024.
The throw made him able to end Pakistan's 40-year wait for an individual gold medal at the Summer Games.
Following the achievement, Arshad was showered with announcements of cash prizes and rewards from politicians and celebrities.
President Asif Ali Zardari will confer Hilal-e-Imtiaz, the second-highest civilian award, on the national hero for his outstanding performance at the World Games.
