Saudi Arabia has announced to give funds to cash-strapped Pakistan for the renovation of Dalbandin Airport in Balochistan, sources said on Saturday.

According to ARY News, talks are underway between the two countries to carpet the runway of Dalbandin Airport.

The aim of the initiative is to give a new look to the deteriorated airport with the financial support of the Gulf country.

ARY News said, quoting sources, that the revamping process of the Dalbandin Airport is set to begin next month in April.

However, no official announcement in this regard was made by the authorities.

On the other hand, PM Shehbaz Sharif's government is mulling to privatise Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to improve the facilities of the national carrier.

Moreover, the previous PDM government had already approved a draft regarding outsourcing three major airports of Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi with a view to attracting direct foreign investment and providing world-class facilities to passengers.

The airports that will be outsourced include Jinnah International Airport Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and Islamabad International Airport.

However, the final process of outsourcing airports is set to commence soon.
