Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Sindh government’s competition is not with other provinces, but with some of the world’s most developed countries.
Speaking at a ceremony in Karachi, the former foreign minister praised the Sindh government’s progress, saying that the province’s achievements reflect Pakistan’s overall development. “I do not believe in dividing the nation,” he said. “Development in any part of the country is a step forward for Pakistan as a whole.”
Expressing delight at the presence of veteran PPP leader Qaim Ali Shah, Bilawal recalled that it was during Shah’s tenure that the Khairpur Special Economic Zone was established. “The Financial Times has declared the Khairpur Economic Zone as one of the best,” he added.
Bilawal further said that the PPP was the first political party to introduce the idea of a public-private partnership, a concept included by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto in the party’s 1993 manifesto.

Emphasising unity, Bilawal said, “Sindh is not competing with any other province or city, it is competing with developed nations, and that is Pakistan’s success. We must unite to compete with the world rather than divide ourselves. Wherever progress is being made, we should take pride that Pakistan’s name is being elevated.”
In recent days, PPP and PML-N leaders have exchanged harsh statements and criticism over Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's remarks, though tensions have eased following meetings between the top leadership of both parties.
