At least five people were killed and 14 others injured in a blast near a passenger bus on the Nushki-Dalbandin highway in Balochistan on Sunday, according to authorities.
Police officials confirmed that the injured were promptly shifted to Nushki Hospital, with two in critical condition.
In response to the emergency, Mir Gul Khan Naseer Teaching Hospital declared a state of alert. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and an investigation into the cause of the explosion is underway.
The incident follows a major terrorist attack in the Mushqaf area of Bolan district, where militants from the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) targeted the Jaffar Express, taking over 440 passengers hostage.

Security forces launched a complex operation, neutralising 33 attackers and rescuing the hostages. However, 26 passengers, including 18 security personnel, lost their lives in the assault.
Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain the most affected by terrorism, accounting for over 96% of attacks and casualties in Pakistan in 2024, according to the Global Terrorism Index 2025 report.
Authorities continue to monitor the security situation in the region.
