An explosion occurred near the Provincial Election Commission office in Karachi on Friday,
The incident, as reported by SSP South Sajid Saduzai, involved explosives concealed inside a bag left on a footpath. Fortunately, the bomb found in a shopper, resulted in only a minor explosion and did not cause significant damage.
SSP Saduzai explained that a vigilant young man, who was cleaning a car, noticed the suspicious bag and promptly moved it to the curb. Subsequently, a minor explosion occurred after some time. Thankfully, there were no casualties or substantial harm caused by the blast.
The incident is currently under investigation, with CCTV footage from the vicinity being examined to gain further insights.
Expressing concern, SSP Saduzai suggested that the explosion might be part of a broader conspiracy intended to sow fear and disorder.
As a precautionary measure, the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has been deployed to the scene, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation and the ongoing security challenges faced by the city.
