Bohra community celebrate Eidul Azha with religious fervour

The Bohra community marked Eid ul Azha on Friday with special gatherings and prayers held at various mosques across the country, joining millions of Muslims worldwide in commemorating the sacred Islamic festival.
In Karachi, the largest Bohra congregation took place at Tahiri Mosque in Saddar, with additional gatherings held at Pakistan Chowk and Haidery in North Nazimabad.
Strict security arrangements were in place, with heavy deployment of Rangers and police personnel outside all major Bohra mosques to ensure peaceful celebrations.

Following Eid prayers, community members observed the ritual sacrifice of animals, a central element of Eidul Azha, which honours the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) in obedience to Allah’s command.
Muslims across the world also celebrated Eidul Azha on Friday, with others scheduled to observe the festival on Saturday. In Saudi Arabia, large crowds offered Eid prayers at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who performed Umrah late Thursday night, joined the congregation at Masjid al-Haram.

Meanwhile, millions of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia reached Mina from Muzdalifah for the next phase of Hajj rituals, performing Rami by stoning the Jamarat al-Aqaba. Pilgrims will continue the symbolic stoning on the 11th and 12th of Zil Hajj.
In the United Arab Emirates, Eid prayers were held across all emirates, with the largest gathering in Dubai at the Kalemah Centre in Al Qusais. Emirati leaders urged communities to embrace the values of peace, sacrifice, and compassion.
In Peshawar, Afghan refugees also participated in Eidul Azha prayers in areas such as Tajabad, Faqirabad, Hayatabad, Phando, and Baghbanan, joining Muslims around the world in this important religious observance.
