The Civil Aviation Authority has urged people not to dump the waste of sacrificial animals in areas around the airports to avoid accidents.
CAA officials said that people slaughtered animals on Eidul Adha in large numbers but dumped waste in the open, attracting birds, which threatened both passenger planes and jet fighters.
They said such threats caused the possibility of the suspension of flight operations as authorities didn’t want to risk lives.
The Pakistan government is also sending people awareness messages to avoid dumping animal waste around airports.
Meanwhile, the federal government has announced a four-day public holiday across Pakistan on the occasion of Eidul Adha.
