Lahore police have registered a case against retired police officer Rana Akram, the former husband of alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky, over allegations of trespassing, assault and theft.
According to the FIR, lodged on the complaint of Yasmeen Tabassum, the case was registered after an inquiry by the city police chief found Rana Akram at fault. The complainant alleged that in July 2024, the retired officer entered her house along with more than 10 police personnel without permission.
She claimed that Rana Akram and the accompanying officers assaulted her husband during the raid. The FIR further stated that the accused took away jewellery worth Rs5.5 million, local and foreign currency, and other valuables from the house.
The complainant also alleged that her husband was implicated in a false case and taken away by the suspects, who also fled with a vehicle from the premises. Police officials said Rana Akram has since retired from service, while further investigation into the matter is under way.
