Türkiye’s Chief of the General Staff, General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continued cooperation with Pakistan in the areas of training, joint military exercises and capacity building.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Bayraktaroğlu visited the General Headquarters (GHQ), where he was presented with a guard of honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Army.

During the visit, the Turkish military chief held a meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

The discussions focused on defence and military cooperation, matters of mutual interest, and the prevailing regional and global security environment.

ISPR stated that both sides agreed to further strengthen Pakistan–Türkiye defence and military ties, emphasising the importance of close coordination and enhanced cooperation between the two armed forces.

Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, underscoring the historical bonds, mutual trust and strong people-to-people ties shared by the two nations.

General Bayraktaroğlu expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Pakistan and praised the professionalism and discipline of the Pakistan Army.

He reiterated Türkiye’s commitment to ongoing collaboration in training, joint exercises and capacity development.

According to ISPR, the visit reflects the strong strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye and their shared resolve to promote peace, stability and security in the region.
