China names research center after Pakistani scientist Dr Iqbal Chaudhry

China's Hunan University of Medicine (HNUM) has named its new research center after renowned Pakistani scientist Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry.
The 13,000-square-foot research center, attributed to Dr Chaudhry, will house 17 researchers dedicated to strengthening scientific ties between Pakistan and China.
Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry has played a pivotal role in numerous scientific initiatives, particularly in establishing research centers under Pakistan-China collaborations and fostering joint projects between scientists from both countries.
Founded in 1912, Hunan University of Medicine is a national public university offering around 20 comprehensive undergraduate and graduate medical programs, with a faculty of over 4,500 members.
Naming this research center after Dr Iqbal Chaudhry is a historic milestone and a significant honour for Pakistan, as its scientists gain global recognition.
Dr Chaudhry has received numerous accolades, including the Mustafa Prize, Pakistan's Civil Awards (Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), the China Friendship Award (2022), and the Golden Silk Ball Friendship Award.
He currently serves as Vice President of the World Academy of Sciences for Central and South Asia and is a Fellow of prestigious scientific organizations, including the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry in London.
