Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa and his family marked Pakistan's upcoming 77th Independence Day with a generous donation of thousands of square feet of land to the Balochistan government.
The donated land spans 31,680 square feet and is located next to the historic Quaid-e-Azam Residency in Ziarat.
A letter signed by the top apex court judge and his brother, Qazi Azmat Isa, was sent to the provincial government, expressing their desire to donate the land for the benefit of the people.
The letter stated that the Qazi family wishes to donate the land to be used as an environmental centre.
"We wish to donate 31,680 square feet of land owned by us, which lies adjacent to the Quaid-e-Azam's Residency at Ziarat, for the benefit of the people to use as an environmental centre, and license it to the Government of Balochistan free of charge. In this regard we enclose the document which sets out the terms of the license," the letter read.
The Qazi family has requested that the donation take effect on August 14, 2024, coinciding with Pakistan's Independence Day celebrations.
"Pakistan is approaching 77 years of Independence and, if the Government agrees, we would want this gift for the people to take effect on the auspicious day of 14 August 2024."
