CM Maryam calls Imran Khan ‘mastermind’ behind Rangers personnel's death

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif vehemently criticised the PTI founder Imran Khan for allegedly provoking his supporters against security forces, leading to the death of Rangers personnel in Islamabad.

Speaking at an event, Maryam Nawaz said, “A policeman and four Rangers personnel were killed because the mastermind in Adiala Jail cannot endure his imprisonment.”

 “We have also endured imprisonment, but I never told my supporters to shut down the city, set it on fire, or attack police and Rangers. Nawaz Sharif has never done that either,” she continued.

Maryam further stated that 117 police personnel were injured during the protests and accused PTI of consistently staging violent demonstrations since 2014. “To date, PTI has not held a peaceful protest,” she added.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of exaggerating the number of casualties among its workers, claiming that the party alleges 500 deaths without providing any evidence. She added, “They may lack proof for their claims, but they have videos of Bushra Bibi fleeing the protest.”

Maryam further alleged that PTI shared old protest videos from 2019, misrepresenting them as recent evidence of violence against their supporters. She also criticized the media for airing PTI’s claims about protester deaths without verifying the facts.

She emphasised that the sole person responsible for the deaths of Rangers personnel, police officers, or protesters is Imran Khan.

Calling PTI a “group of terrorists,” Maryam stated that the party must be "eliminated" from Pakistan, adding that "Khan's party is an obstacle to the country's progress."
