CM Maryam hands over Rs10 crore, Honda Civic car to Arshad Nadeem

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday reached Mian Channu to meet Pakistan's star javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem.

Punjab's first woman CM, who landed in the hometown of the national hero via helicopter, was welcomed by Arshad and his family members.

Upon reaching home, CM Maryam gave a warm hug to the athlete's mother, Razia Parveen, according to a statement issued by PML-N.

The provincial head congratulated Arshad for making the country proud at an international event.

CM Maryam also handed over Rs10 crore and a Honda Civic car to the 27-year-old sportsman for his historic win at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Nawaz Sharif's daughter also awarded a check of Rs50 million to Arshad's coach, Salman Iqbal Butt.

CM Maryam took to the microblogging site X to share the moments she spent with the athlete and his family.

"Weldone Arshad Nadeem," she captioned the pictures with an emoji of the Pakistani flag.

Arshad made the country proud on August 8 when he threw a javelin at the record-breaking spot of 92.97 metres at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The throw made him able to end Pakistan's 40-year wait for an individual gold medal at the Summer Games.
