Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday interacted with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ), emphasising the province’s central role in Pakistan’s future prosperity and stability, state broadcaster PTV News reported.

During the session, the army chief praised the people of Balochistan, describing them as “the pride of Pakistan,” endowed with “highly vibrant, resilient, and patriotic” qualities. “The true wealth of Balochistan lies in its people,” he remarked, highlighting the province’s immense potential for economic growth and social development.

Field Marshal Asim Munir spoke about the ongoing efforts of the federal and provincial governments to uplift the socio-economic landscape of the province. “These development initiatives are being undertaken through a people-centric approach to ensure long-term prosperity,” he noted.

Acknowledging the constructive role of civil society, especially in empowering youth, the COAS underscored their pivotal role in sustainable development, negating "vested political agendas in the interest of long-term prosperity in Baluchistan."

Touching on security concerns, the COAS warned against elements trying to destabilize the region. "Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij, propagate anti-people and anti-development agendas with malicious intent to perpetrate violence," he added, reaffirming that all necessary actions are being taken to pursue these terrorists and rid the province of this menace.

Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, the army chief cautioned that while Pakistan seeks regional peace and stability, any violation of its territorial integrity, direct or indirect, will be met with a firm and decisive response to safeguard the lives and well-being of its citizens.
