Safe City cameras expose SHO driving with fake number plate in Karachi

KARACHI: A policeman was found using a fake license plate on his car in Karachi.

SHO Yousuf Plaza Waqar Awan was riding the car having fake license plates and it was arrested near Artillery Maidan.

It was informed by the police that this vehicle was tracked via Safe City cameras under the jurisdiction of Artillery Maidan police station.

Later, the suspect was handed over to the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) after being booked in Artillery Maidan police station.

The SHO has been suspended from his post of SHO and has also been suspended by Central District Police tonight. The police said that there will be departmental action against Waqar Awan.

AVLC police also said that the investigation of the SHO was underway.
