The Sindh government has extended the deadline for replacing old vehicle number plates with the new Ajrak-themed plates by two months, according to a notification.
The provincial Excise and Taxation Department announced that the deadline for all types of vehicles to switch to the new number plates — featuring enhanced security features and a traditional Sindhi Ajrak design — has been extended from October 31, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

Earlier in August, the Sindh government had already extended the deadline to October 31 on the instructions of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, who had directed authorities to ensure a wider rollout of the new culturally inspired plates across the province.
The new Ajrak plates are part of a broader initiative to modernise vehicle registration while showcasing Sindh’s rich cultural heritage.
