Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Friday addressed a press conference in Rawalpindi.
He began the press conference by congratulating the nation on the establishment of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) headquarters following the appointment of Field Marshal Asim Munit as the CDF.
The head of the military's media wing said that conflicts now span multiple domains beyond traditional land, sea, and air operations.
“To achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of effort, the CDF headquarters was a long-awaited essential requirement," the DG ISPR said. "This is not unique to Pakistan as more than 70 countries around the world maintain integrated headquarters for their chiefs of defence,” he added.
Without naming PTI founder Imran Khan, he said that the "delusional person has become the prisoner of his own ego". "His ego and disappointment have increased to such a level that he believes the would would stop existing without him."
The DG ISPR said that the narrative being peddled by the PTI founder is "not about politics but has become a national security matter."
“He thinks that anyone who has ties with the Pakistan Army is a traitor believing that whatever he does is right, because he is mentally unstable. They are an expert at building false narrative,” he said.
“He has created this false narrative against the army because his government has completely failed in KPK in the last 13 years."
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif declared that, “I will reiterate, if someone thinks that someone is bigger than Pakistan and its respect then he is highly mistaken. We have taken an oath to protect this country and we will go till the end to live on this promise."
“They have a comical obsession with the Pakistan Army. Starting from the mental patient sitting in jail to all its followers, their focus in only on us as they do not want to talk on the real issues,” the DG ISPR responds to a question asked by a journalist on allegations against the army institution without proofs.
