DIG Traffic Karachi Pir Muhammad Shah removed

Karachi: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah has been removed from his post.

According to a notification issued by the Sindh Police, Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh has been appointed as the new DIG Traffic Karachi, replacing Pir Muhammad Shah.

Sources said Pir Muhammad Shah was removed for failing to ensure effective traffic management following the Gul Plaza fire incident.

They added that traffic flow in and around Gul Plaza was severely disrupted after the fire, causing significant delays.

Due to traffic congestion, fire brigade vehicles also faced difficulties in reaching the site in time.

It may be recalled that 79 people lost their lives in the devastating fire that broke out at Gul Plaza a few days ago.
