The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued its notification stating that digital invoices will be applicable for the sale of fast-moving consumer goods from February 1.
It was further said that digital invoices will be a requirement for selling daily necessities.
Registered persons will have to submit sales tax invoices, and this decision will apply to importers and manufacturers of essential goods.
According to the notification, the decision will also apply to wholesalers and dealers who sell daily-use goods, and retailers who import and supply goods in large quantities.
Additionally, it has been stated that digital receipts are now a requirement for manufacturing, importing, and selling medicines, as well as for those involved in the production and importation of beauty and personal care items.
Furthermore, the use of digital invoices is compulsory for wholesalers, dealers, and retailers in the sectors of home care and dairy products and also for the sale of cereals, baby food, sale of frozen desserts, and traders of fast-moving consumer goods.
This rule applies across the board to ensure that all stages of these businesses, from production to retail, implement digital invoicing practices.
